CLIMATE CHANGE IN THE TROPICS

Professor Ülo Mander research interest is on biogeosciences (carbon and nutrient cycling in wetlands and forests), landscape ecology (landscape structure and biogeochemistry), and ecological engineering (constructed wetlands and riparian buffers zones). He was a supervisor of 43 PhD theses and 4 postdoctoral research, currently supervising 9 PhD students and 2 postdoctoral research. He participated in 20 European Union 5th, 6th, and 7th Framework Programmes, Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe projects. Professor Ülo was also a visiting professor at research centres in Germany, Sweden, Norway, Japan, China, USA and France as well as an editor/member of editorial board of 7 scientific journals. Additionally, he participated in expeditions to tropical peatland forests in Peru, Malaysia, Réunion, the Republic of the Congo, and Uganda.
