
EXPERTISE
Professor Erik Meijaard is the Managing Director of Borneo Futures, Honorary Professor at the Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology at the University of Kent, and the Co-Chair of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Oil Crops Task Force. He is a renowned conservation biologist, with 32 years of experience working on tropical wildlife conservation and science. Having gained two BSc degrees in the Netherlands in Environmental Science and Biology and an MSc in Tropical Ecology, he obtained a PhD in Biological Anthropology at the Australian National University in 2004. He continues to advocate for reconciling wildlife conservation with fair and equitable development.
