Professor Dato Dr Mohamed Shariff Mohamed Din FASc, an Honorary Professor at the Institute of Bioscience, UPM, obtained his PhD from the University of Stirling, Scotland. With 47 years of teaching experience, his research has focused on tropical fish health, emphasising sustainable aquaculture practices. His work aims to maintain a healthy balance between the aquatic environment, fish production, and health yields for safe human consumption. Professor Shariff is a task force member of the Digitalisation and IoT Programme for Biodiversity, coordinated by the Academy of Sciences Malaysia. He has served as a consultant for various organisations, including the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), International Development Research Centre (IDRC), and WorldFish, among others.
