Loganathan Ponnambalam PGeol FASc is an ASM Fellow appointed in 2019. He holds a BSc (Honors) in Applied Geology from Universiti Malaya. His notable contributions include authoring two memoirs for the Geological Survey of Malaysia and leading groundwater exploration in Johor, Pahang, Terengganu, and Negeri Sembilan. He retired as the Director of Corporate Affairs at the Minerals and Geoscience Department of Malaysia and served as the Southeast Asia representative for Mitsubishi Materials Natural Resources Company, Japan. At ASM, he was recently the main report writer for the “Water Sector Transformation 2040” and “Business Model for Developing an Ion Adsorption Clay Rare Earth Elements Industry in Malaysia”. He is affiliated with several geological organisations and is a Registered Professional Geologist with the Board of Geologists Malaysia.
