Environmental sociologist
Associate Professor Dr Sharina Abdul Halim, an environmental sociologist, is a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Environment and Development (LESTARI, UKM). Currently, she holds the position of the Deputy Director at LESTARI, UKM. She was selected by the Intergovernmental Panel for Climate Change (IPCC) as the Lead Author for Chapter 5 on the Special 1.5 Degrees Celsius Report (2017-2018) and Chapter 10: Asia for the Working Group II contribution to the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report (AR6- WG2) (2019-2021). Professor Sharina is also actively involved as part of the member for the National Geopark Implementation Committee.
