OPEN SCIENCE IN TROPICAL BIODIVERSITY

Dr Rahimatsah Amat FASc obtained his PhD from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Johor on resource planning and management in protected areas. Currently attached with Sabah Environmental Trust (SET) as its CEO since 2012, he is also a Fellow of ASM and the Chairperson for Sabah Chapter, in addition to holding several appointments as member of the Finance & Investment Committee of Sabah Parks, Technical Committee member for the working group on the Agriculture, Forestry and Other Land Use and Land Use, Land Use Change and Forestry (AFOLU-LULUCG), Sabah, and a member of the Science, Technology & Innovation Council of the Ministry of Science, Technology & Innovation, Sabah. Internationally, Dr Rahimatsah serves as a member of the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas and former Regional Coordinator (Asia) for the Transboundary Conservation Specialist Group (TBC-SG) of IUCN WCPA.
