Dr Helen Nair FASc is a distinguished academic and researcher in plant physiology and biotechnology, focusing on improving the postharvest quality and shelf-life of fruits and flowers. With over 120 publications and more than four decades of experience, she has held significant positions at Universiti Malaya, Asian Institute of Medicine, Science and Technology (AIMST) University, and Quest International University, including Professorial Chair of Plant Physiology and Senior Research Professor. Dr Nair has mentored numerous students and research personnel, specialising in molecular biology, particularly orchids and bananas. As a Fellow of ASM, she advocates for open science in biodiversity. Her leadership for the ASM Precision Biodiversity Task Force has fostered innovative conservation strategies using advanced technologies, highlighting her commitment to research excellence and national development.
