Tropical meteorology
Associate Professor Dr Liew Ju Neng is a distinguished climate scientist specialising in tropical meteorology and regional climate dynamics over Southeast Asia. His research focuses on interannual and long-term climate change time scales. Dr Liew is an active participant in regional research collaborations and serves as a council member of the World Climate Research Program’s (WCRP) Coordinated Regional Climate Downscaling Experiment – Southeast Asia Domain (CORDEX-SEA). Together with colleagues from Southeast Asia and other international agencies, they run regional climate models to provide high resolution future climate projections for Southeast Asia regions, benefiting regional users and contributing IPCC’s assessments.
