Academician Professor Emerita Datuk Dr Asma Ismail FASc is the Immediate Past President of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia and currently the Vice-Chancellor and CEO of IMU University. She holds multiple degrees, including a BSc and PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology. Notably, she was Malaysia’s first female Vice-Chancellor at Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia and Universiti Sains Malaysia and the first female Director-General of Higher Education. Dr Asma has also served on various international boards and was named one of Forbes Asia’s 50 Over 50 in 2023 for her impact on higher education and innovation.
