Interdisciplinary Research for Sustainable Use of Tropical Marine Resources

The Future Belongs to the Tropics

The Ocean covers over 70% of the planet and 76% of the Tropics is Ocean. Demand for use of marine environmental resources and space is expanding, yet much of the marine environment is deteriorating, including due to effects of climate change.

Interdisciplinary research creates understanding of the complexities and challenges that can support more sustainable management of marine resources and hence deliver economic, social, health and wellbeing and environmental benefits to coastal communities.

Join us in learning about how interdisciplinary approaches can support sustainable management of marine resources with a lecture by Prof. Melanie Austen and a Q&A session moderated by Dr. Rahimatsah Amat FASc.
